# Requirements & Compatibility

Before installing and using **QuickInsert**, make sure your system and SOLIDWORKS® setup meet the following requirements. This ensures a smooth experience and full compatibility with all features.

### ✅ Supported SOLIDWORKS® Versions

QuickInsert is tested and compatible with the following versions:

* **SOLIDWORKS® Desktop 2018** and newer
* Both **Standard** and **Professional/Premium** editions are supported

### 💻 Operating System

* **Windows 10** (64-bit) or newer
* **Windows 11** fully supported
* Administrator rights are required for installation and license activation

### 📦 Disk Space & Paths

* Minimum **150 MB** of free space for add-in files
* Components and settings are stored in user-defined paths:
  * These can be set per **User Profile** during first-time setup
  * Ensure you have write access to the target directories (especially on shared or network drives)

### 🔐 Permissions & Access

* **Admin rights** are required during installation and for activating the license
* Ensure **SOLIDWORKS®** **is closed** before running the installer
* If you’re on a company network, your IT may need to whitelist QuickInsert’s installer and licensing endpoints

### 🌐 Internet Access (for licensing)

* Internet connection is required **only during license activation** or **trial request**
* After activation, QuickInsert works fully offline (unless you're syncing updates or settings)
